this episode is Part of the Drawing Together live video series – learn more here
The mountains are calling, and for this episode, I’ll be working from a photo I took at one of my favorite places here in Colorado. This drawing episode will be all about trusting our marks and reacting to space, light, and form, rather than being bogged down by the details. Used sketch paper and ebony pencil. Thanks for all your words of wisdom in this episode!
I love every one of these unique (but same?) drawings! Makes me feel better because of the comments of people not feeling like they did a great job, but they did! Encouraging.
This was a challenge but I push myself to finish and it did approve a little, but still very monochromatic.
This was super hard for me. Worked on greenish toned charcoal paper, so had to bring out the white charcoal for the water.
So very cool!
Thought I’d go crazy and try doing this in pastel, yikes. Never done one before but I was getting tired of black and white. I have a box of pastels from my long gone mom so I broke them out of the drawer. It felt like coloring and this waould have been tough in charcoal too.
Beautiful !
This is great!
I really struggled with this one but I wouldn’t let it beat me lol
Ultimately, it was a fun exercise but I definitely got lost in the woods with no breadcrumbs in sight. I think I gave up rather than finished.
Got kind of lost in the woods but really enjoyed playing in the water. Thanks.
First ever landscape so I really struggled… but the struggle was enjoyable. Posting my result anyways…. dont laugh too loud lol
Thanks for another great Drawing Together…
Well, it took me about three hours, but I think I finally worked it to death!?
Every drawing session is more fun then the last! Landscapes are not strong for me, but I really enjoyed this process…
