This is it. I don’t know why it did not upload before.
Thanks for another great episode. This was my first time drawing on black paper. It was a lot of fun!
Beautiful work! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Those turning edges are amazing:)
Had a great time drawing together! It had been a while!!! Thank you Scott for two great years of doing this!!! I have loved it and have learned so much!!!
I had so much fun with this lesson! I really loved working with white on black paper! I used strathmore charcoal paper with white charcoal and white and sepia conte’. I was afraid to experiment by adding the sepia, as I didn’t want to mess it up, but I liked the effect in the end.
I was inspired by all the other drawing to finish mine so here it is! I like it better than what I thought I would.
Nice, Tammy!
This is great, Monique!
I love the effects achieved with white charcoal on black paper! Another great session!
Still a bit wonky. It is so difficult to get the mirror image right. I love the drama of white on black paper. Very meditative 🙂
Here are the vases, drawn on Strathmore Black, velum surface, 9×12, mixed media paper with variety of white and black charcoal. Drawing on black surface is quite interesting. I do not know why, but the original piece does not look as linear, and textured as the picture! Thank you Scott! Urszula
I did get to participate here and there, so hard to do with another job and other projects. This is what i have so far.

Dear Scott,
I’ll try again today to upload my sketches. Hopefully it will work.
Kind regards
Pia
I’m posting this now because I may not finish it. It has it’s good points but overall I’m not sure if it’s worth finishing.
A bit messy, but I like it.
Started toning my white paper with graphite and added some color with pastels. The graphite ground actually created some resistance in applying other dry media over it, which gave me the effect of subdued value and color.
Thank you Scott,
Working white on black was a good experiment. I look forward to trying this again on a better paper than the poster board that I used.
This is a beautiful photo and interesting to draw from. I used the rough side of Mi-Teintes paper. I had to lighten the back right flask quite a bit to keep the terracotta bowl in the front.
And since next week’s will be a profile, I thought I’d share one of my latest ones using graphite on 9×12 white paper.
Still lifes aren’t my kind of thing, but I really got into this one. No black drawing paper, just graphite and eraser. Thank you, Scott!
could go on forever with this. thought I better leave it and move on.
