Today, I draw a pair of pears using graphite. If all you have is a regular yellow school pencil, you’ll do just fine. Today, I’m working with:

White Sketch Paper (Hahnemuhle “Skizze 190”)
Graphite Pencil (HB, 4B)
Carbon Pencil (in case we need something darker)
Kneaded and Rubber Erasers

This was very difficult using graphite instead of charcoal… just not used to it. Lol.
