Fun! Added some color
Owl
I always surprise myself when doing these kinds of drawings, this reminds me of the cat which I think was one of my better drawings. Charcoal is fun but test my abilities which is a good thing. Any way this is one of my favorites.
I’m a birder and I see this one all the time…from a distance.
I enjoyed working on the toned paper. I wasn’t very successful with the white charcoal but I really liked the process. The owl was a great choice.
Enjoyed having fun with the owl. Thank you
I first tried this on some heavy textured paper for charcoal and pastel but couldn’t get any details. This one is done on plain copy paper and I think is actually better
My owl. I only had white paper and pencil
Took me a while, but I got it done. What a hoot. Bad pun.
Really well done. Looks like he’s about to go for me
Very nice Adele
Another great challenge. 2nd drawing and use of charcoal, shame I couldn’t get the white to work very well. Was fun…. thanks
Fun lesson. I have a General’s charcoal white pencil. But the white didn’t flow like yours. Even with a lot of pressure. It’s pretty old, do they get hard to use over time?
Drawing the owl was intimidating in the beginning. But working along with the community made it fun and fruitful.
I used a Mechanical eraser to pull out the white highlights as I did not have white charcoal.
Thanks Scott for this session!
This was both fun, and a lot more work than I thought it would be.
I love your eyes!!
This was fun but I really struggled with it and am still not sure I’m even remotely happy although my drawing buddy in CA says YES! HAHAH! I struggled with liking the white in mine and just couldn’t wrap myself around it.
Thanks for another great class, Scott; I learn something with each one!
I love owls! I didn’t get this guy’s EYES big enough, darn it. Strathmore grey sketch paper, charcoal, lots of fun.
This was fun, owl right!
Used White paper and eraser to bring out white in owl. Another fun class.
