Very helpful to focus on building up tones instead of starting with outlines, came out much more luminous! Thanks!
Oops don’t know why it’s sideways
My girl
The lips are especially beautiful !
Challenging but I love getting the practice
Thank you so much, Jan!
The top one is graphite on copy paper. I spent a lot of time on the nose and stopped when the video ended. Later tried again with charcoal on some sketch paper. Faces are hard but this is good practice.
This is beautiful!
This facial angle was tough, but a great lesson as always! I used charcoal, and I did have to keep working for quite some time after the lesson.
Wonderful work! I think you captured these features well and I love how you are using the materials. Wonderful mark-making!
This sure is a challenging subject, but I think this looks great. There is some really good drawing happening here!
Beautiful work!
Great job!
Wonderful work. There’s some good drawing happening here!
Next time I will make sure the proportions are right before continuing and to practice practice and practice some more! My nose is on the long side, but kept my drawing to the draw along time frame. Thank you for another awesome lesson!
Thank you for these lessons. I attempted a drawing of my husband using a 6B graphite pencil, since I don’t have an ebony pencil. I was trying to mimic the style of the reference photo. It was really hard but I enjoy these lessons so much. Your tips are very helpful!
My version of Nose and Mouth. Drawn on Strathmore Heavyweight Drawing paper. 8″ x 10″ using a 6B Staedtler Mars Lumograph pencil
I figure if we all post our noses, mouths, ears, eyes and hands we’re pretty close to having an entire person! AHHAHAHA! I ended up being satisfied with my nose and mouth but certainly not the eyes(although that was NOT the focus)…but I must say I REALLY struggled with the nose. I find it very challenging but a great exercise to start with a blank sheet of paper and work with Scott and see what I have at the end of an hour of work.
This was a tough one. I see things I could have done differently, but I like where it is now so I stopped. Sometimes stopping is a hard thing to do! Thanks again for a great challenge and learning experience.
