    Hello Scott, I am a bit late to post my drawing of a man’s profile. But here it is, on the same paper you recommended , but using black Derwent’s microns, maker pens, because I did not have any in sepia, or gray, and white pastel pencil. I got exhausted drawing that profile. Most likely do to my ambition to draw more rather than less. Urszula

    My fineliner pen wouldn’t go over the graphite. Used some brown and gray colored pencils. The ink was done with a dip pen. It went on ok over the graphite. Thanks for videos it’s good practice.

    I decided to use coloured pencils for the entire drawing. Tried to follow the same techniques for the cross hatching but it may have gone a little haywire in some areas. A bit more patience on my part would have helped I’m sure lol. All in all a great experience as usual. Thanks Scott!

    it is very delicate to work with pens. One line and everything is gone. Can you ever be satisfied with your sketch? Somehow there is still something to improve.

    I used just a .7 mm black Rollerball pen, which I think worked well with the subject matter’s weathered face. Dark graphite background was added to convey the chiaroscuro effect in the lighting of the reference photo.

    This was an interesting experiment—never done pen before! I was really having challenges with tools. The pens I had didn’t like the paper surface nor would they make any marks over graphite. I ended up using a fine point sharpie. I didn’t quite get the spacing between the eyes correct. I had a tough time but I tried! ?

    I have not used any white pencil and my sketch is nothing like your beautiful delicate drawing. But it was fun to draw in pen – the feeling that every mark is there to stay gives the freedom to let go. My mistake in the background was that I used a pen which was too thick. I went over it with charcoal, but that does not selvage the mess 😀

    We started with White paper and I continued with it for the drawing. I used a Zebra 0.5 Sarasa Clip Pen. I really enjoyed using the cross hatching.
    I have a few spots I needed to plan a bit better before using the pen. But it was fun! Thanks Scott

    This was hard. However, pen was a bit more forgiving than I thought it would be. I liked starting out with pencil. Thank you for including this ink drawing in your lessons.
