Finally did the duck.
Nicely done!
Here’s the duck!
Another great drawing!
Thanks for another great episode!
Hi Scott,
Here is my duck, on Strathmore, 9×12, toned gray paper, using vine charcoal and charcoal pencils. Thank you for an interesting subject. It was not easy to see the light / dark parts of the bird at first. But, as I looked at the subject longer, I saw more, and more of light on it. Urszula
This is great, Urszula!
It’s a work in progress.I’ve working on this drawing for a few months now.
Thank you for sharing this!
Still working on the duck, but wanted to share my first attempt at color pencil… Comments welcome. Thanks Scott, and… please keep the drawing sessions coming!
Beautiful! Nice use of color here.
I used the Rives BFK grey paper. I was happy with the drawing so I did not add the white charcoal. My values go from a near black (1) to about an 8. The eraser allowed me to get back to grey paper.
I did draw the curves from straight lines which helped me to get a more natural contour. The foot in the water is intriguing.
Here’s my duck. Another great challenge!
Yet again it was an interesting and fun lesson. Thank you Scott!
this was a fun sketch.
Wonderful! Great color!
Hi Scott,
Here is my man’s profile. I loved drawing with different colored pens. It gives more life to the drawing.
Kind regards Pia and I’m looking forward to the duck.
Beautiful, Pia! It’s wonderfully delicate
Lovely!
Hello Scott,
I really liked the play between light and shadow. I tried to emphasize this as much as possible.
A great reference photo, thank you!
Kind regards Pia
Thanks for a great lesson! ?
Wonderful work!
Who knew a duck could be such a challenge? Worked hard to make it not look like a cartoon. Thank you for another great class, Scott!
Great job here! I love seeing those cross-contour marks that help define the volume and texture of the duck.
