Painting Together with Acrylics, Episode 6
This episode is Part of the Painting Together with Acrylics live video series – learn more here
Painting realistic textures that fool the eye is easier than it looks and I’m going to show you how I do it! We will magnify an antique door and see how closely focusing on a simple object can be a surprising place to learn about texture. Join me, Gigi Chen, and fellow artists from around the world as we embark on this acrylic painting adventure together.
In this lesson, you’ll learn:
- How to paint realistic textures
- Basic acrylic painting techniques
- How to mix acrylic paints
How does this work? Join me live on Thursdays at 3PM Eastern and I’ll lead you through a finished painting. Follow along if you’d like or watch the video and paint along at your own pace. You’ll find the materials below. When you’re done, visit Artistsnetwork.com/Painting-together and share your work!
I’ll start with a drawing already transferred to a panel. To learn how this happens, watch this video: https://youtu.be/p_iTm1B3iEA
You’ll Need this reference image to paint along with me:
