Description
In this course you will be presented with a methodology of helps to see specific unique features of the portrait; the specific components (eyes, nose, mouth) which then lead to the construct of the head. Larry has taught this approach, namely…using the length of the eye as the primary unit of measure, as a classroom art instructor since the early 1970s, demonstrating consistent measurable success. The process begins by establishing a standard, “ideal” …and though one would be hard pressed to find anyone’s face “perfect”…simply knowing and committing the “ideal” to memory, builds a foundation that allows you to render the true likeness of an individual.

- A step-by-step approach to build the features into a complete portrait.

Student Testimonials
Learning the standard portrait measurements can definitely help you notice the unique features of individuals–which in turn helps you create a better likeness of them. Thank you for the feedback…it was very helpful! ~ Lana Z.
Larry is a great teacher. The anatomy of the face is broken down and made easy to understand so that it can be reconstructed on paper. There is just as much emphasis put on visualization as there is on execution. Great class – I’d recommend it to anyone! ~ Vikash G.
Very unique way to structure a portrait. I found this class both challenging and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in portrait drawing! ~ Megan S.
